Why Timing Matters
Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). Your body begins producing hCG after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus.
Because hCG rises over time, testing too early can sometimes lead to a false negative.
For the most accurate results, pregnancy testing is typically recommended after a missed period. However, symptoms can vary from person to person.
If your result is negative but you’re still noticing changes in your body, it may simply be too early to detect hCG. Retesting in a few days may provide a clearer result.
In the meantime, you may begin noticing common symptoms such as:
- Missed period

- Frequent urination
What Happens Next?
After your test, a member of our team will review your results with you privately and answer any questions.
You’ll receive your results during your appointment. If your test is positive, you may be eligible for a limited OB ultrasound performed by a registered nurse (RN). This can help confirm key information about your pregnancy.
